Billing Policy

Does RMI bulk bill patients?

We are now a mixed billing practice. Bulk billing will continue to apply for all CT scans, X-rays, and general ultrasounds. However, there will now be a gap charge for more specialized services. Please contact our friendly support team at 0287 658 822 for clarification on our gap charges.

What is mixed billing?

Mix billing combines bulk billing for eligible Medicare cardholders with a gap payment for certain specialised services. The gap payment is the difference between the Medicare rebate and the fee for the service. This change ensures we can continue offering high-quality imaging services without compromise.

How does RMI charge patients with no Medicare?

For patients not covered by Medicare, an option to pay a private fee that can be claimed is available. Please note that more intricate procedures may involve additional charges.

If you have any queries in regards to the specific billing options for your procedure, please call our friendly reception at 0287 658 822 ahead of your appointment.
